AFI Gears up for the Philstar Celebrity Run 2009!

All roads will lead to Fort Bonifacio Global City on October 11, 2009 for the first ever PhilStar Celebrity Run 2009. Organized by philstar.com, the online arm of the STAR Group of publications, the PhilStar Celebrity Run 2009 is a running event for the benefit of the Gearing up Internet Literacy and Access for Students (GILAS) Program. "We thank philstar.com for helping us in our cause," said Chet Palma, GILAS Manager for Private Sector Fund-raising.

Aside from helping GILAS connect more public high schools to the Internet, runners will also get the chance to rub elbows with celebrity athletes such as Drew Arellano, Christine Jacob-Sandejas, Marc Nelson and Rovilson Fernandez. Business heavyweights such as Lance Gokongwei, Fred Uytengsu will also take part in one of the biggest running events in the country. Runners can choose among 3K, 5K, 10K and 21K distances for this event sponsored by Adidas, Yahoo! Philippines, E-Games, Brazilian Agaricus, Crocs, Nutribar, Smart, Coppertone, Aqua Blue, Sport Beans, Timex Chris Sports, Vitwater and One Tagaytay Place. Runners for the 3K, 5K and 10K races have a registration fee of P350 while 21K runners will be required to pay P450.

Registration is open in the following sites: ROX, Bonifacio High Street, Taguig; 2nd Wind, 88 Maginhawa St., Teacher's Village, Quezon City; Crocs Stores (SM Megamall, Trinoma, SM Mall of Asia); Chris Sports (Glorietta, Festival Mall); Philippine Amateur Track and Field Association (PATAFA) office, Rizal Memorial Sports Complex, Manila.
