Ayala Foundation is the corporate social responsibility arm of Ayala Corporation. As such it develops, implements, and sustains programs in various fields of social and cultural development.
Ayala Foundation’s main program themes are the following: education, sustainable livelihood, and love of country.
Over the years Ayala Foundation has worked in various fields of development—from science and technology research to vocational education to social consortium building. All these are in keeping with the organization’s commitment to actively engaging the communities it works with, and evolving with the people it serves. In the past, the foundation’s mission was to contribute to the eradication of various forms of poverty in the country; today, it has chosen a strategic, integrated, and sustainable approach to poverty alleviation by focusing on the needs and aspirations of specific communities.
Ayala Foundation is a strong believer in the concept of ‘creating shared value’ (CSV)*. Creating shared value recognizes that economic and social progress are more strongly connected than previously believed; in fact, social progress should go hand in hand with economic progress.
Through CSV, the foundation seeks to blur the distinction between business and philanthropy, and hopes to gain greater participation from donors, partners, and beneficiaries—everyone has a role to perform in ensuring the success and sustainability of a program.
By creating shared value, Ayala Foundation strongly advocates the use of implementing development programs with the rigor and accountability of business. It also seeks to bridge the divide between business and social development, with a strong multi-stakeholder approach.
