Ayala Foundation recognized by El Nido for Tino response efforts

El Nido, Palawan (March 16, 2026) — During its 110th Founding Anniversary, the Municipality of El Nido recognized Ayala Foundation Inc. (AFI) with a Plaque of Appreciation at the Mayor’s Awards Night. The award was personally conferred by Municipal Mayor Edna Gacot-Lim in acknowledgment of the Foundation’s support following Typhoon Tino in November 2025.

Through its Corporate Citizenship and Volunteerism (CCV) platform, Ayala Foundation worked alongside partners and local stakeholders to respond to the needs of affected communities. Close to 2,000 relief goods were distributed across impacted barangays, alongside shelter repair kits that supported 72 households and 25 schools in beginning their recovery.

Ms. Chiara Cruza, Senior Manager for Community Development in El Nido, received the award on behalf of the Foundation, representing both the CCV team and the broader network of partners who contributed to the response.

For many families and school communities, the support extended beyond immediate relief, providing a starting point to rebuild and move forward after the typhoon.

More broadly, the recognition reflects the collective effort that shaped El Nido’s recovery. Local government, community members, and partners came together, each playing a role in helping communities get back on their feet. This shared sense of responsibility continues to strengthen the municipality’s resilience.

For Ayala Foundation, the recognition underscores a core commitment: not only to deliver support in times of need, but to stand with communities through and beyond recovery, working alongside them toward long-term resilience and shared prosperity.
