In 2024, we began laying the groundwork for the CENTEX Early Grades program, which aims to align pre-kindergarten and kindergarten instruction to ensure a strong foundation in early childhood education. The program is designed to strengthen school readiness by improving young children’s early literacy and numeracy skills.
The CENTEX Early Grades program builds on our experience implementing the Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) program in Cagayan de Oro City, Iloilo City, and El Nido, Palawan.
In 2024, our program interventions reached 20 child development centers across 13 barangays in the Municipality of El Nido. The initiative focused on strengthening the capacity of child development workers, empowering parents and guardians as active partners in learning, and providing developmentally appropriate resources to engage young learners. This effort lays the groundwork for expanding to additional child development centers and catchment elementary schools with kindergarten classes next year.
Our investment in education underscores our long-term commitment to improving learning outcomes by transforming how young Filipinos learn in their earliest years and enabling schools to adopt future-ready digital tools to help ensure that no learner is left behind. Through CENTEX, and with partners who share our vision, we are working to create the conditions where every child has the opportunity to learn, thrive, and shape a better future—for themselves and for the country.
